Tired of buying diapers? Potty train!

March 29, 2011, 10:57 am

We have recently come to the end of a box of diapers and my wife has declared that it is time to "potty train". In simple terms, that means lots of laundry and puddles all over the floor. Just like a dog but more frustrating. It's a lot of work and that's why I enjoy going to work while this is all going on. About every five minutes you have to ask, "Do you need to go?". This is usually answered with a no and then followed with a puddle and a bottle of Resolve.

I think we all have people in our lives that we think need to "get out of their diapers" and grow up. There are those who never seem to get it. Even when you tell them straight to their face, they nod and say OK and end up standing in another puddle.

The key is that kids don't know how to use the toilet until you show them. The same is true for people, unless you walk with people and show them how to do it, they will never have or get the desire to learn. Honestly, most of us just distance ourselves from people who need us the most. They probably wont like it and it's probably going to take some time. I would never leave a kid alone to figure out how to keep his pants clean, so why would I leave an adult alone to clean up their life?

It's going to be messy and frustrating, but if you want people to grow up and "get out of their diapers", you're going to have to train them!

Getting Things Started

January 4, 2011, 7:16 pm

Welcome to the first post of many.

Hmmm...what to say on your first blog post?

How about I tell a little about me. I am married to a gift from God and have two awesome kiddos. I love most sports but my heart belongs to baseball, not just the different leagues and teams, but the game itself. I also love technology and finding new ways to do old things and doing things that have never been done before.

If you are wondering what you will hear about if you follow this blog, try this on:

God
Family
Church
Technology
Sports
Random rants
Personal convictions

I'm excited to have you along for the journey!

Ef
