Paying it backward Story
March 1, 2012, 8:45 am
I was at the C-Mart in Sterling two days ago getting gas. I had been putting off using the paying it backward card for who know what reason. I was going to get $30 in gas but I thought, "no I will put $20 in my truck and put $10 towards the next person that gets gas." I asked the clerk, " would it mess things up for you if I did this." She said, "sure won't, the way you did it really makes it simple." I replied,"Awesome, thank you for letting me do that. Could you give that person this card when they come in whoever they are?" Here is the cool part. She said, " I sure can. We have been doing it alot. It is really cool people are doing this kind of thing." YEAH GOD.
Let me just say how proud I am to be apart of what GOD is doing with HIS people. We never know who we might touch with simple acts of kindness. Keep it up CrossPoint Sterling.
I believe God is going to do great things with us. I am expecting HIM to do something big.
Do you believe HE can do something big with you? Why or why not?
I would love to hear from you. michael@crosspointnow.net
New Series, New Challenge
February 1, 2012, 10:52 am
CrossPoint Sterling Faith Community,
God is moving. I believe deeply that God is going to do something great through our church this year. The questions I have been asking myself lately are. Am I ready? Answer "I think so. God help me spend more time with you. Studying your character and how you interacted and worked with your people while you were here on earth". Am I even capable? Answer " Of course not. How ever with the help of ME (GOD) I can mold you, shape you, and use you just they way you are. After all I made you the way you are for my glory and for a purpose."
These are a few questions that are on my heart. I will share more later.
Here is the challenge I have for you. Are you ready for God to do a great work in you life? Are you ready for HIM to do great things through you?
We are starting a new series this weekend. It will be on stewardship. (don't stop reading it is not all about $$$)
This weekend I am going to challenge all of us to get our of our comfort zones and do something with the things GOD has blessed us with.
What I would like you all to do is begin praying that GOD would give you the opportunity. (Even though you have no idea what I am going to ask you to do)
I hope you all have a blessed day.
All about HIM and not about us
Wish list

It has been quite a while since my last post... Sorry about that. I thought I would share with you all a few things from our staff and leadership team meeting we had last Sunday here at CrossPoint Sterling.
We spent the first part of the meeting praying for the church, praising HIM for what he had done in 2011, and to prepare us for 2012.
The next part we began discussing 2011. We talked about some things we felt were definitely wins such as 14 baptisms, volunteers stepping out, community outreach events (4th Of July, Warriorfest, July food drive, Angel tree for Good Fellows, Two clothing swaps, October Fall Festival), increase giving, worhip experience, etc. God was moving and worked through us in many ways in 2011.
We believe HE is going to big things in 2012. Please pray that HE would do a great thing in our church.
The next part of the meeting was spent looking at the calendar. Simply put- being intentional with each month and putting things on the calendar such as Lord's Supper, baptism, outreach events, etc. Personlly I felt great about this part. For me I know if we plan it it is more likely to happen. However, if GOD says do this we will definitely change. If HE says go we better go. (We are CrossPoint we are always changing something)
Finally we concluded with a time of dreaming. The rules were simple 1. Money is no object 2. People are always available 3. It does not matter how big. Here is what we came up with.
Wireless monitor system, Graphics database, Info center/kiosk, Youth rec area-gym, sand vball & bball court, full time youth pastor, consistent Wed. night adult classes, real drum set up, CP Lyons, Michael here all the time, TV Monitor for worship band, more musicians, Counseling center, CR Sterling, Laurel trained as counselor, prayer ministry, Adopt a family, Full time children's pastor, Secretary at church, Dinner or lunch for firefighters & Police, Prayer Garden, finish kitchen, landscaping around church. (BTY- if you can help with any of things it would be greatly appreciated. WHO IS THE CHURCH?)
Kind of a long list but at least you know we did not sit around and look at each other for 2 hours.
In conclusion we apprecate, I appreciate each and everyone of the staff, volunteers, and everyone who comes each and every week to hear from God.
God is going to do great things. How fortuate we all are to play a part in what HE is and going to do. Are you ready for HIM to move?
P.S.- Did you see the new addition to the church?
